The Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed that over 75 bodies have been retrieved from the debris of the GOIL filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra that caught fire during Wednesday’s torrential rains.
The heavy downpour in the capital rendered several places flooded and also led to power outages in several communities. Reports suggest that the fire service personnel struggled to fight the inferno last night. Officially, it is unclear what sparked the blaze at the service station.
Pulse.com.gh is learning that the Fire service has been able to put out the fire and officers from the police and the military are at the scene to ensure calm.
