Prayer Devotional for the Day

Written by | April 15, 2017 | 0
Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your many promises of blessings. I am thankful that You are my refuge and I can run to You when I am in trouble. I am also grateful that You keep me from the traps of the devil. Lord, I do love You, and I ask that You cleanse my heart from any thing that is not like You. Strengthen me to walk worthy before You and my fellow men. Lord, restore the “fear of the Lord” to Your people today. Lord, forgive us when, in certain areas, we have become too casual about the things of God. Instill in us, Your people, a reverential fear of Your Holy Name and Word. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, I am thankful for Your mercy and truth each day. Thank you for forgiving me and being patient with me when I fail You. I ask for the desire to be more diligent in my prayer life. I need help in my own life and I also need the burden to pray for others who need Your help. I lift up my brothers and sisters in the Lord and ask that You minister to each of them in the area of their lives where they have the greatest need. Encourage those who are weary, give faith to those who are losing hope, grant strength to the weak and health to the sick. Bless all of Your children and keep us all from evil. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, I am so grateful that I know You. You have blessed me greatly, and I am thankful for that goodness toward me. Father, strengthen me to daily walk in obedience to Your commandments. Lord, help me also to be sensitive to the needs of others. I desire to be a giver and reach out and help those who are poor. Help me not to ever demean or look down on those who are less fortunate than I am, but rather let me lift them up and give them hope and encouragement. Help me to trust You for daily provision and to give of those things that I do have. I can always share a smile, encouragement, faith, love and prayers with others. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your promise of protection from the enemy. Thank you for the many times that I have been spared from the evil plans of the devil. I do appreciate Your angels watching over me and my loved ones. I am grateful that no weapon formed against me prospers. Lord, I submit to You, knowing that when I resist the enemy, he must flee from me. Thank you for answering me when I am in trouble and showing me the way out and how to overcome every problem that I face. Lord, help all of Your people to know the promise of Your power to keep us from harm. Strengthen our faith to trust You in all of our ways. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your wisdom and guidance each day. It is so exciting to walk in Your ways. I do appreciate the unexpected blessings You bring my way each day. Thank You for the wonderful people You have brought in my life. Lord, give me the discernment to recognize those things that are not of you. Give me spiritual eyesight to see things that are of the enemy so that I might not be fooled by him. Keep me from anger and help me to know Your will so that I can follow You closely in all of my ways. Bless my family and friends and keep them from the wicked one also. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, we do ask You to forgive the sin of murder, due to the abortions in our nation. Lord, this sin of murder began with the sin of lust and selfishness. Deliver Your people from these sins. Help me Lord, to overcome my own selfishness, and be willing to lay down my wants for the sake of the kingdom of God. Help me to think of others and their needs, and not concentrate so much on my own needs. Thank you, that You are taking care of my needs, so that I can help and bless others. Lord, I pray for the leaders of our nation. Give them wisdom, protect them from harm, give them strength and health. Turn our nation back to the Christian principles that it was founded upon. Thank you, Lord for being merciful to all of us. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Proverbs gives us a good explanation of what the “fear of the Lord” is. Some people are confused by this concept when they see in the New Testament, that “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment…” (1 John 4:18). To reconcile these seemingly opposing truths, we must understand what it means to fear the Lord. The Hebrew noun yir’ah comes from the verb yare’, “…to venerate, reverence.” It means to be humble toward God, because we acknowledge His power and authority. A small example of this would be the sort of reverence we have toward our parents. We should respect what our parents say. If our father warns us of the danger of smoking, we will not rebel against him. We will fear the consequences

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear Father in heaven, I am thankful for Your love and patience toward me, to help me overcome the things in my life that are not pleasing to You. I realize that I cannot do this without the help of the Holy Spirit. I am calling on You to empower me to be that overcomer and help me to come to the place that I love You so much, that I will never want to hurt You by going my own way. I humbly ask You to remove all pride and rebellion from my heart. Cleanse me, and may I always have the “fear of the Lord” in my heart. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the great men of the past that You have used to bring us to this place in history. Lord, I pray that in all the nations of the world that the true God and the Bible will be known. Lord, may we here in the United States, bring Christ, the Bible and prayer back into our schools. Lord, without this Christian influence some of our children are becoming murderers and our schools are not safe. Lord, our nation was founded as a Christian nation, may we not deny You in our schools, businesses, and homes. Comfort all those families who have lost their children due to the violence in our schools, and forgive us for not raising our families in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Help me to bring the light of Your Word to all and help
