The Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA failed to honour Ibrahim Mahama, brother of president John Dramani Mahama at Grand Ball 2016 as announced prior to the event, which happened on November 4 at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.
The CEO of Engineers and Planners was to receive a honouring award with other three personalities at the fourth edition of the show for his contribution to the event since its inception but he was dropped from the list at last minute.

President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kufour popularly known as Obour explaining the need to honor Ibrahim Mahama before the event noted “Ibrahim Mahama has been supportive to the Grand Ball since we started. Last year when we were auctioning Nana Ampadu’s guitar, he bought it for GHC 50,000,”.
Obour on the night of the awards naming personalities expected to take home honouring awards mentioned Edward Boateng, CEO of Global Media Alliance; Betty Mould-Iddrissu former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and Kasapreko Company Ltd.
Reasons for not honouring him were not given at the event.
