Publishers of Attitiriw Magazine are not happy about media reports that Ibrahim Mahama, brother of president Mahama bought wedding pictures of Kumawood star Nana Ama McBrown for $30,000 at the launch of the magazine’s 10th edition.
Maud Saahene Acheampong, managing editor, reacting to the reports, which went viral after the launch that happened on Thursday, November 3, accused the media of doing a shabby work. She made it clear that Ibrahim Mahama did not buy the actress’ wedding photos for the said amount as reported. According to her, the boss of Engineers and Planners bought a copy of the Atitiriw Magazine for $15,000 but not $30,000 as reported.
The peeved woman in an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM disclosed that she cannot fathom why all reports were centered around Ibrahim Mahama’s presence at the launch instead of focusing on speeches and appearances by other equally important personalities who attended the event.

Mrs. Acheampong disclosed that the magazine was launched because it was the tenth edition but not for the reason that it had exclusive photos of McBrown’s wedding.
“The new journalists need to be trained well. A lot of things happened at the event but they did no report any of them. I gave a speech, the chairman gave his remarks, Akwamuhene also said something, Minister of Tourism had something to say but none of these comments from them were reported.
All reports are on Ibrahim Mahama who graced the occasion and people are saying he bought Nana Ama McBrown’s wedding photos for $30,000 which is not true.”
The editor continue that Ibrahim Mahama was not willing to attend the launch because anything he does will be used against him due to the political season.
“Ibrahim is my personal friend and even when I invited him, I had to talk a lot before he accepted to come because he said we are in a political year so people will twist anything he does and turn it into politics. The next minute all I saw was people talking about Ibrahim Mahama paying GH 50,000 at MUSIGA Grand Ball last year and adding it to my event. How does something he did last year go with my event?
It is so sad it has happened this way. Ibrahim had no idea who covered the magazine before he came to the event. Reports from the media on this program is not helping at all because if he says he is not paying I cannot do anything to him. If this thing continues then nobody will be ready to support small businesses in the country.
He didn’t buy Nana Ama Mcbrown’s wedding photos; I want to make this clear. He bought a copy of the magazine and he didn’t buy it alone, he bought it with his business partner, Mr Ofori. He didn’t buy it for $30,000, he said $15,000 which is not even paid as at now.” angry Maud revealed.
